The Don Diego Corona is the ultimate "anytime" cigar. Visually, it is a beauty—the Connecticut Shade wrapper is golden-tan, silky to the touch, and almost entirely vein-free. It is expertly constructed at the Tabacalera de Garcia factory, ensuring a perfect draw every time.
First Third: Opens with a light, creamy texture and notes of fresh cedar and sweet grass. The aroma is very pleasant and non-intrusive.
Second Third: The profile develops a slightly nutty character, similar to blanched almonds. There is a very faint hint of white pepper on the retrohale, but it serves only to provide balance.
Final Third: The cedar notes become a bit more pronounced, accompanied by a touch of toasted bread and a lingering creamy vanilla finish. It never becomes bitter, even as it nears the nub.
