A hallmark of Charles Rattray’s classic Scottish blending lineage, Marlin Flake is an iconic VaPer (Virginia/Perique) formulation celebrated for its rich depth and slow-burning properties. Crafted from matured Red Virginias, dark Cavendish-processed Virginia leaf, and a spicy pinch of authentic St. James Parish Perique, it undergoes hot-pressing into dense slices that are partially rubbed out into long, dark ribbons. Free of artificial aromatics, it relies on natural heat-curing to extract a deep, molasses-like sweetness and rich spicy undertones, making it a legendary all-day smoke for Virginia connoisseurs.
