Distilled along the south coast of Islay using slow-running pear-shaped stills, the spirit undergoes an unusually long maturation of 16 years predominantly in rejuvenated and second-fill ex-bourbon casks alongside a portion of European oak sherry wood. The extended wood contact rounds off harsh youth, yielding a harmony of deep medicinal peat smoke, rich dried fruits, and coastal salinity.
