First introduced in 1968 by George S. Grant as a Christmas gift for family and friends, Glenfarclas 105 was the world's first commercially available cask strength single malt Scotch whisky. Named after its strength in the traditional British proof system (105 British Proof equates to 60% ABV), it is matured primarily in ex-Oloroso sherry casks alongside refill oak casks in Ballindalloch. Despite its formidable strength, it retains remarkable smoothness and balance, serving as a historic benchmark for powerful, sherry-forward highland malts.

Opens with dark sherry dried fruits, toasted almonds, honeyed apples, and warm oak spice, expanding on the palate into rich butterscotch, dark chocolate, cinnamon, and stewed raisins, concluding with a long, warming finish of dry oak spice, dark cocoa, and lingering sherry sweetness.
