Whisky Sanaig
Named after a small, rocky inlet located just north of the farm distillery on Islay's rugged western coast, Sanaig forms the sherry-led counterpart to Kilchoman's bourbon-heavy Machir Bay flagship. While both expressions share the distillery’s heavily peated spirit profile (50 ppm), Sanaig features a significantly higher proportion of Spanish Oloroso sherry cask influence, aged in a combination of both full sherry maturation casks and sherry-finished bourbon barrels (~70% sherry to ~30% bourbon ratio). Bottled non-chill filtered and with natural color at 46% ABV, it provides a rich blend of dark fruit, warm oak spice, and heavy Islay peat smoke.

Opens with cooked dark plums, stewed raisins, bittersweet chocolate, and dense maritime peat smoke, unfolding on the palate into dark fruitcake, caramel, cracked black pepper, and toasted walnuts, before concluding with a long, satisfying finish of rich peat ash, lingering sherry sweetness, and warming oak spice.
