H. Upmann
Propios Lim. Ed. 2018 Single Cigar
First Third: The smoke begins with a noticeably richer and heavier presentation than a typical H. Upmann cigar. Deep layers of toasted earth, seasoned cedar timber, and baking pastry blanket the tongue, accompanied by a lively touch of black pepper on the retrohale that quickly smooths out into a sweet, molasses-driven baseline.
Second Third: Centering into the heart of the Mareva Gruesa barrel, the initial spice shifts toward an incredibly dense, velvety texture. Dominant characteristics of roasted hazelnuts, dark-roasted coffee beans, and high-grade vintage leather step forward, keeping the flavor profile beautifully structured.
Final Third: The conclusion scales up seamlessly, grounding itself in a robust, completely round medium body. Strong elements of bitter baker's cocoa powder, dry oak wood, and a closing wave of warming baking spices (cinnamon and nutmeg) finish long, clean, and highly fragrant.
