But they didn’t rest on their laurels, after more than one year of development of the blend and packaging (under the auspices of the International Hand-Made Cigar team of Scandinavian Tobacco Group) they set out to create cigars that deliver a more complex profile, with intense flavours and sophisticated blends new to them and the industry as a whole. They evolved, and through that evolution, have arrived at a new identity altogether: a company with the experience to guide their unending innovation.
BLACK
The blend for the 2017 version of the Macanudo Inspirado Black uses completely different components for the wrapper, binder, and filler from the original Macanudo Inspirado Black.
According to General Cigar, the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper was grown under a proprietary and experimental process where the plant was allowed to ripen on the stalk. The new Macanudo Black also utilizes an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and Nicaraguan filler featuring tobacco from proprietary seeds grown in Estelí that were uniquely fermented.

The Macanudo Inspirado Black Robusto delivers a full-bodied blast of flavor, opening with bold layers of dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, and heavy earth. As the dark Broadleaf wrapper burns, notes of black pepper, leather, and a subtle molasses sweetness emerge, leading to a rich, spicy, and deeply satisfying finish.
